Kissing was studied in the early 20th century by a historian named Earnest Crawley. Crawley stated that the art of kissing was a universal expression of love and affection in the social life of higher civilizations. Throughout history, whether a symbolic kiss (as in kissing an icon, a temple floor or a social interchange representing devotion, respect or love/affection), a kiss is a significant gesture. Do No Harm

The first rule of medicine is “Do no harm”. Yet, per The Journal of the American Medical Association (1998), medications that were properly prescribed and administered are the fourth leading cause of death per year. The April 25, 2011 edition of American Medical News stated that 1 in 3 hospital patients experience an adverse event, and 7% of patients are harmed permanently or die.
